About the work

By day, Hitomi, Rui and Ai Kisugi run the "Cat's Eye" café in the heart of Tokyo. By night, they become elusive phantom thieves, stealing back one by one the paintings created by their missing father, Michael Heinz, hoping to uncover the truth behind his disappearance. On their trail: inspector Toshio Utsumi, secretly in love with Hitomi, unaware she's the very thief he's chasing.

Created by Tsukasa Hojo (City Hunter) in 1981 for Weekly Shōnen Jump, Cat's Eye captivated a generation with its blend of action, humor and style, carried by three heroines as elegant as they are formidable. A bestseller in Japan, the series inspired a cult anime adaptation and remains a landmark of the "gentleman thief" genre.
