Berserk follows Guts, a lone mercenary wielding a sword as tall as himself, relentlessly hunting Griffith, his former brother-in-arms turned worst enemy. After the Eclipse betrayal, in which Griffith sacrifices the Band of the Hawk to be reborn as a member of the God Hand, Guts swears revenge, forever marked by the Brand of Sacrifice that draws demons to him.
An unfinished work by Kentaro Miura, who passed away in 2021 and whose story has since been continued by Studio Gaga under the supervision of his friend Kouji Mori, Berserk is regarded as one of the absolute pinnacles of seinen manga and dark fantasy. Its influence reaches far beyond the medium: it directly inspired cult video games like Dark Souls, and the Berserker Armor remains a major aesthetic reference in pop culture.
